There are only three hours before the start of the second Fandom Rocks auction. Are you ready? A few things to remember:

All listings will start on Wednesdays at 12 noon Pacific time and run 7 days.
We will have approximately 60 auction listings again this year!
We are still taking item donations for the auction. Just drop us a line!

How many day until the Winchesters return to the CW in the U.S.?A manageable 84. The premiere date has been set for September 10, 2009 for any fans who missed the explosion of the news the other day.

How many days until the second annual Fandom Rocks auction? A mere 13!

Please spread the word and bookmark our eBay link on your calendars for July 1, 2009. We hope you want Campaign Five to be as successful as we do so we can make huge donations to the American Cancer Society in honor of Kim Manners and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Campaign Five: Auction! Plus? Tweet!

Fandom Rocks is excited to announce our second auction! This may turn into an annual event – we don’t know yet – but what we do know is we want this auction to be as successful as the last auction so our two charities can reap the benefits of our amazing, creative, generous fandom. Once again we have items from official Supernatural supporters, and we are looking for fan-made items as well. Some of the fan-made auction listings were among the most popular items last year. That’s no surprise! You guys rock!

Campaign #4 was a great success! Supernatural fans raised $1,500 USD between September 1, 2008 and March 1, 2009 for the HSUS Investigations Fund and Children for Tomorrow. (All donations after March 1, 2009 will be allocated to Campaign #5.)

Campaign Five: Charity poll winners!

Things have been quiet on the Fandom Rocks front as we wound down Campaign Four and began preparing for Campaign Five. Today, I am happy to announce the charities you selected for Campaign Five.

The top charity, with 57% of your votes, was the American Cancer Society. Given the recent passing of Kim Manners and undoubtedly the personal connection cancer prevention and treatment has for many people, Fandom Rocks is proud to support this organization with our fellow fans.

“With chartered divisions throughout the country and over 3,400 local offices, the American Cancer Society (ACS) is committed to fighting cancer through balanced programs of research, education, patient service, advocacy, and rehabilitation.”

The second charity was the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

“The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide.”

While the charities for this campaign seem to differ greatly from previous campaigns, I believe they are both strong proponents for improving human life and addressing relevant health issues. Through these choices, our fellow fans demonstrate that Fandom Rocks is willing and able to acknowledge and tackle challenging problems with personal connections.

It’s a great day for fans of Supernatural! Reports are popping up that Supernatural is among six shows the CW has renewed for next season. Here’s to another year with the Winchesters!

Campaign Five: Charity poll is live!

The poll for the next campaign charities is now live on the web site. Please review the organizations, click links to learn more, and then vote on the one you would like to support. If you do not see a charity you want to support, nominate them! Make sure you research them first, of course. We only ask that they be 501(c)3 organizations or the equivalent for an international charity.

Last Week for Campaign Four!

We are down to the last few days of Campaign Four. Barring some miraculous stimulus package for fan-based organizations, it doesn’t look like we will reach our goal. However, we can still reach the goal of matching previous campaign amounts! Can you help us get there?

Campaign Four: Holiday Weekend!

Guess what? This weekend we have two holidays – Friday the 13th and Valentine’s Day. (Yes, I am counting Friday the 13th as a holiday.)

We have just over two weeks left in this campaign, and we still have a LONG way to go.

Would you consider …
Donating $13 in honor of Friday the 13th?
Donating $14 to charity instead of the card/candy industry for Valentine’s Day?

(I hope so!)

After all, Jared and Jensen are in movies about both holidays! (If you are willing to take that leap with me, that is.) Why not help out charities this weekend and help our campaign reach our goal?
